What does the $205 Registration Fee cover?
- The League Fee
- 2 Tournaments, (post season tournament, if necessary).
- Insurance and AAU membership
- Jersey's and Shooting Shirts
Is there Traveling Involved?
Most games are in Medford, and some in Grants Pass. The only traveling we will do is 2-3 tournaments depending on Grade Level & Teams/Coaches desire. These tournaments are typically in Eugene, Bend, Salem, or Portland. We do have scholarship funds reserved.
How many GP teams are there?.
We try to have two teams per grade level. This means that your child would practice with all his friends, but not necessarily be guaranteed to be on the same competition team as all his friends.
How many practices a week? And when will practices start?
There will be a minimum of two practices and possibly three a week. For the 4th through 6th grade those will start in late November 7th and 8th grade practices will start after middle school season ends. There may be some variance depending on coach and team needs. Once January hits, gyms and practice times will be consistent, though until then, gym space is limited. .
How does this differ from Boy's and Girl's Club?
Besides the league and travel tournament details mentioned above, and each child receiving a quality uniform and shooting shirt, there are a few fundamental coaching differences as well. We will have consistent varsity level coaching, in a more advanced approach to skills and fundamentals. The idea is the children will be properly equipped for varsity level basketball when they get to Grants Pass High School.
